Andrew Farriss To Celebrate Release Of His Debut Solo Album With An April / May Tour

Published

SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT 19.03.21

To celebrate the release of his first solo album, legendary songwriter Andrew Farriss has announced a special run of tour dates throughout April and May. Andrew’s self-titled album, a collection of songs traversing roots, blues, Americana and country will be released internationally on March 19 through BMG. Andrew has assembled some of the best country musicians from around Australia to perform with him on the tour.

Andrew Farriss hardly needs an introduction to music fans. He is the man behind the songs that sold INXS more than 50-million albums throughout their career. His music with the band has been played constantly on radio stations around the world for over three decades.

Andrew is very excited to be performing again after a lengthy break from the road. The tour is not only the first solo tour undertaken by a member of INXS since the band stopped working live, it is also the debut of Andrew’s more country-influenced songwriting. “For me personally, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to share my music, and take my style of country music on tour, and play to the people who have supported my career to now, and hopefully some new faces as well,” he says. “Like so many others, we’ve had friends and family whose lives have been impacted by COVID-19, so to be able to take my music out and perform it live around Australia, is a really humbling experience.”

Check out my recent interview with Andrew right here….

The next single from Andrew’s album is released on March 5. Run Baby Run is the perfect prelude for what music-lovers can expect from his album, and the live shows in general. A big song with a vivid story, Andrew effortlessly weaves an old-time reverie with an outlaw country sentiment.

Joining Andrew on his album tour is two-time Golden Guitar winner Andrew Swift. Since finding his feet in the Australian country scene as a Toyota Starmaker grand-finalist in 2017, Andrew Swift as gone from strength-to-strength, his debut album Call Out For the Cavalry debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Charts.

“I’m pleased to have Andrew Swift on board with this tour,” says Andrew. “He is a mate of mine.”

Spend an evening with one of Australia’s most successful and respected artists and experience the craftmanship and beauty of his music and the stories told within the songs. This is a rare opportunity to be taken on a journey through places, emotions, observations and the personal experience of a true legend of the Australian music industry. These shows have limited capacity due to COVID-safe protocols, so book now to avoid missing out on what will be an awesome night of music with Andrew Farriss and his friends.

Andrew Farriss will release his self-titled debut album on Friday 19th March 2021 through BMG. Andrew’s new single, Run Baby Run, is released on Friday 5th March 2021.

This July, Sydney guitar-wizard PLINI is set to return to the stage to celebrate the release of his latest album, Impulse Voices. After a year of show postponements and cancellations, PLINI and his band of musical superheroes (Chris Allison, Jake Howsam Lowe and Simon Grove) are thrilled to reunite on stage, performing new songs, old songs and all the notes in between.

“It was definitely a little strange releasing a new album without being able to celebrate it with live shows, but being able to announce these three (and hopefully more soon) has me and my band over the moon! Going to be practising like crazy, putting together a new setlist… I’m even a little excited just to coil cables after the shows. See you all soon!” says PLINI.

To ensure a truly memorable evening, all three shows of this east coast run will be supported by the inimitable STEPHEN TARANTO and his band, playing music from his critically-acclaimed EP Permanence for the first time ever.

PLINI and STEPHEN will also host a music masterclass / Q&A session before each show – an opportunity to ask about their approaches to playing, writing, creativity, music business and more.

Just Announced: The Angels’ Greatest Hits, Live In Concert “The Greatest Show On Earth”, Melbourne June 2021!

Published

on

Emerging from lockdown and ready to rock, The Angels have put something special together for their fans, and it doesn’t get any bigger or better than this – an unbelievable greatest hits show, “The Greatest Show On Earth” presented by Mr Damage.

Kicking off in Melbourne initially, with two shows at The Palms at Crown on June 18 and 19, the band is thrilled to confirm a setlist of wall-to-wall hits including ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’, ‘No Secrets’, ‘Take A Long Line’, ‘Shadow Boxer’, ‘Marseilles’, ‘Comin’ Down’, ‘After The Rain’, ‘Face The Day’, ‘Fashion and Fame’, ‘Let The Night Roll On’, ‘We Gotta Get Out Of This Place’, ‘Mr Damage’ and many more.

As the book The 100 Best Australian Albums points out, “The Angels can lay claim to being Australia’s longest-lasting band.” They have been on the road consistently since 1974 and it took a global pandemic to slow them down.  Now the band is itching to get back on stage and they’re not mucking around!

This is the start of a huge year for The Angels as they celebrate some major anniversaries in 2021. It’s 45 years since the release of their debut single ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’, a song that’s now an indelible part of the Australian culture.

This tour also marks the 10th anniversary of Dave Gleeson joining the band, a position he treats with great reverence. “I’m definitely respectful of the fact that I’m not the creator of the Angels’ sound,” Dave says. “And I’m mindful of bringing that energy that Doc brought to the band. But it’s a real treat for me to be up there blasting out songs that I’ve loved since I was a kid.”

Acknowledging their disappointment at the cancellation of Bluesfest recently, Rick Brewster notes, “We were devastated. We all know it’s been a very tough 12 months for the music industry and every music fan. Our relationship with the audience means everything to us and it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to play more shows and reconnect again”.It’s time to get back out there and do what we love doing,” adds John Brewster. “It’s time to rock.”

 Let The Night Roll On!

DEAD LETTER CIRCUS, LAGERSTEIN, DEVILSKIN & BARE BONES ROUND OUT LINEUP IN BRISBANE ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 30

TICKETS ON SALE NOW AT HTTP://MJRPRESENTS.COM

Steel Panther is going big. Really, really, really big. Like, outdoor festival style show type of big! And they’re bringing 5 kick ass bands with them to electrify and amaze your eyeballs and ear holes.

Sevendust, Dead Letter Circus, Lagerstein, Devilskin, & Bare Bones will help round out this amazing lineup! Tickets are on sale now for the new Brisbane show and remaining tour dates.

This tour marks the largest venues that Steel Panther will have played in Australia due to growing demand every time they return down under! The ‘HEAVY METAL RULES TOUR’ starts in New Zealand at Powerstation on Sunday October 24th. On Tuesday 26th October they meet up with Sevendust to double-team Australia. Catch both bands at Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne on the 26th, at Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Newcastle on the 28th, at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney on the 29th and then for the final blow-out at Eaton’s Hill Hotel, Brisbane on Saturday 30th October.

For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is comprised of Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). Hailing from Los Angeles, the epicenter for rock n’ roll in all its debauchery and glamour, Steel Panther has established themselves as the world’s premier party band, melding hard rock virtuosity with parody and criminally good looks. Steel Panther is a global phenomenon with four full-length albums, touring across the world, platinum-level YouTube status and a #13 debut for the new album Heavy Metal Rules on the ARIA charts.

Along for the ride are Sevendust, who were last here in 2019 on their tour celebrating the 2018 album ‘All I See is War’. While demonstrating their musical mastery accumulated over more than 25 years as a band and simultaneously destroying all expectations for their live show, Sevendust show no signs of slowing down. To this day, the connection between fans and the GRAMMY® Award-nominated gold-certified hard rock outfit only grows stronger. They released their latest album ‘Blood & Stone’ in October 2020 through Rise Records.
