The Planet of Love is the lead single from modern blues/rock artist Brad Cook’s upcoming and much anticipated EP, Time to Fly, which is due for release on Friday, 31 July and available for pre-order now.
Out and available for airplay now, The Planet of Love is a quirky love song wrapped up in a thick fuzzy rockin’ groove, with Cook’s influences, such a Lenny Kravitz, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin making their presence felt through the infectious drive, direction and momentum of the song (listen here).
The Planet of Love is written about that moment you feel like the person you are with is from another planet, because they are unlike anyone else you’ve ever met on planet earth,” says Cook. “It was the first song I wrote for my new EP…I had the music in my head for a little while, and the lyrics were based on a very silly conversation I actually had with someone a long time ago. As strange as it sounds, the words from that silly conversation just fell into the song without any effort.”
The track was mixed and mastered by Mathew Robins of ColourSound Studios, and the video clip was shot and produced by Ian Ritter.
The feel and direction of the song paved the theme for what became the Time to Fly EP, available for pre-order/save now. Check it out here.
ABOUT BRAD COOK
Brad Cook is an Australian Modern Blues Artist, with a Psychedelic Classic Rock twist.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Brad Cook’s love for music and the guitar started at an early age when introduced to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, The Doors, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and many more classics all having a huge influence on him.
He gravitated to the guitar at the age of 17, and within 6 months of learning, though underage, he was performing in working cover bands throughout some of Sydney’s grittiest and rockiest venues.
At the age of 19, he felt the need to advance on the guitar and began taking guitar lessons with iconic Australian Guitarist Dave Leslie of Baby Animals, who is a massive influence on his playing and has remained close friends with him to this day.
His love for music grew passionately, and he began writing songs, which ended up becoming music for his very first recording act ‘SMOTHER’. He toured around Australia in a 22-‐seater bus for 3 years straight in SMOTHER, supporting some of Australia’s biggest Musical Acts including Jimmy Barnes. At the end of that lengthy tour, he relocated to Melbourne, Australia with the band and continued to write, record and perform with them. After being in Smother for nearly 15 years, releasing three independent recordings and performing in some of the biggest venues around Australia, he found himself without a band.
He decided to throw himself out there into the thriving Melbourne band scene, and auditioned in some great original bands, including Electric Mary. He ended up joining established Melbourne band “The Eternal” and had a three-‐year stint with them that included many live performances, support spots with Uriah Heep and Amorphis, and released three recordings with the band -‐ When The Circle Of Light Begins To Fade (2013), Sombre Light 2014 (Anniversary EP 2014), Circle Of Live CD / DVD (2015).
In 2018 he decided to start writing songs without a project in mind. This process was to help him navigate through some hard times. These songs were never meant to see the light of day. But something deep inside of him made him realise that these were the truest songs that he had ever written.
So in 2019, he committed to recording these songs with the idea to release them as a solo project. The recording process saw its fair share of obstacles and challenges, but he pushed on.
2020 will finally see the release of his first solo EP recording called “TIME TO FLY”. This new EP is the result of a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. He performed and sang on the entire record, striving to deliver the love and passion he has for music into every song.
With its blistering retro guitar prowess and powerful classic rock overtones, it definitely highlights his love and passion for the blues and psychedelic rock music.
TIME TO FLY is available through all main streaming platforms, and on official his website www.brad-cook.com
Brad has also performed and shared the stage with many various working shows including:

Running is the third single from the upcoming album and follows on from
Taking My Chances & Scars
Check it out here smith-kotzen.lnk.to/albumPR
Adrian says of the song, “It’s a really cool sort of driving track, one of the heavier ones on the album and we’re excited to get it out there ahead of the album release. We’ve both been thrilled by the reaction to our music so far and are very much looking forward to meeting up again as soon as we can, to write some more songs together.”
Richie adds, “Running was the first song Adrian and I worked on. Adrian came in with that heavy verse riff which lead me to conjuring up what lives as our chorus to the composition. Running is surely one of my top three favourites on the Smith/Kotzen album and I really look forward to playing this one live”.
As well as the duo co-writing, co-producing and sharing guitars and vocals, Richie also plays bass and drums on the track.
With the two previous singles Taking My Chances and cars having been enthusiastically welcomed by fans and media alike, Running is the perfect final choice ahead of the eponymous album release on March 26 to showcase the astonishing breadth of talent and musical diversity between this unique pairing of two of rock’s most respected artists.

The bands drummer, Hugo Rumore comments, “The recording process for The Wisdom of Mountains with Chris (Blancato) was interesting, because he saw a lot of potential for the song – and we spent a long time workshopping to really define the parts and make sure that the drums were really supporting the song in the best way that they could. We spent a lot of time on small details, which really completes the song, in my opinion!!”
