Dave Gleeson of The Screaming Jets
Dave Gleeson and The Screaming Jets need no introduction, having taken the Aussie music scene by the scruff of the neck over 30 years ago, cementing their spot as one of the absolute Rock N Roll powerhouses in the decades since.
C’Mon the track that opened up this latest Podcast Episode was the song that may have been your first taste of The Jets, but it was debut album All For One and Better that introduced the band to the masses.
Celebrating it’s 30 year anniversary this year, The Screaming Jets have just announced a re-release of All For One, with re-recorded versions, as well as a National Tour that kicks off in July through October that will see that legendary album played from start to finish.
I had the pleasure of recently chatting with frontman Dave Gleeson where we talked memories of the “electricity” recording All For One in Paradise Studios, Sydney, The Jets finding their place in a rock world that saw them playing with Pearl Jam at their first ever L.A show – to supporting hair metal band KIX. For those hanging for a new studio album from The Jets, Dave has some news for you there as well…
Be sure to head over to The Screaming Jets website to check out a bunch of cool pre-order options for the All For One Release and grab your tickets to one of the shows coming to a City near you!

Pacific Avenue unveil new single ‘Easy Love’ and accompanying “sugary” video clip
“Oh my, savour those sweet heavenly harmonies, that scorching guitar solo and classic vibes. I have a feeling Pacific Avenue are going to make their hometown of Kiama, worldwide famous.”
– Scott Smith
Following on from their well-received single ‘My Hero’, Kiama-based indie-rock quartet Pacific Avenue have just revealed their authentic new single ‘Easy Love’ – produced and mixed by Jack Nigro (TOTTY, The Sea Gypsies, Vacations), and mastered by Leon Zervos (The Jungle Giants, Amy Shark, Holy Holy).
‘Easy Love’ opens with crunchy guitars, tranquil drums and stoic bass, before the cherubic vocals of Harry O’Brien add to the gracefully rich texture of the song. A dynamically expressive verse makes way for an impassioned chorus complete with delicate vocal harmonies and a touching lead guitar line. Paying homage to their influences with an exquisite solo and an extensive outro, the song’s message touches on the simple intricacy of love.
O’Brien talks about the story behind ‘Easy Love’:
“Whilst love can be an entirely complicated mess, it’s also the easiest thing we do. Running into someone, unexpectedly at that, and finding that you don’t need to try being anyone but yourself, is a very sweet thing and is something that’s worth holding on to. Regardless of who you are, love is love, and that’s what we hope to convey through the song and the video clip.”
Alongside the release of the track is the wistful accompanying music video – filmed, directed, and edited by Tasman Wilson. Shot predominantly in Kiama on 16mm film, creating an antiquated aesthetic, the clip features footage of the band members doing random acts of kindness for their community locals and cruising adventurously in a vintage Pontiac, punctuated with the nostalgic scenery of live performances and young couples frolicking and partying. The vibrant candidness of the video is a nod to the song’s message that love has no limits and can be found in a myriad of ways.
“A lot of thought and work would go into the shots as lighting and movement had to be spot on due to limited amount of film,” explains O’Brien. “Although it was quite a meticulous process, we managed to film the majority of the clip in one day, starting at 5am in the morning and ending at midnight. Safe to say we were exhausted by the end.”
To coincide with the release, the band will embark on an Australian headline tour, playing shows in Adelaide, Fremantle, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. This continues on from an earlier East-Coast run of shows, including a sold-out Lansdowne Hotel performance, and relentless regional touring, having shared stages with Ruby Fields, Ocean Alley, The Wombats (UK), Skeggs, Lime Cordiale, Thelma Plum, Tash Sultana, British India, Missy Higgins, The Vanns, and San Cisco. They have also appeared on the main stages at Australian boutique festivals Lost Paradise, and Yours And Owls.
Previous singles have been widely embraced by the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Pilerats, NME, Life Without Andy, Cool Accidents, The Soundcheck, Forte Mag, AAA Backstage, and Happy Mag. They have also seen radio support from triple j, triple j Unearthed, FBi Radio, SYN FM, Radio Adelaide, 2RRR, PBS FM, and Aussie Music Weekly.
‘Easy Love’ is available worldwide now.

PREMIERE: Melbourne rockers Shotgun Mistress deliver explosive new single ‘Bleed Me Out’, out May 3
Melbourne legends Shotgun Mistress release their first track for 2021, Bleed Me Out, another explosive dose of hard rock that reaffirms the band’s trademark style of blistering riffage and raucous energy. That’s now four monster anthems that have been lifted from their forthcoming debut album due out in 2021 on Crusader Records.
2020 was a write off for some, but the Mistress made some remarkable chart and radio play gains, solidifying its position as one of the emerging faces of new Australian hard rock. Bleed Me Out is set to repeat the considerable impact of previous singles—Save Me From Myself (#1 iTunes Rock Charts), Glorious Machine (#1 iTunes Rock Charts) and Collide (#4 iTunes Rock Charts). Whilst the Aussie heritage of the likes of The Poor & The Screaming Jets runs through the bands DNA, it’s channelling the equal parts hedonistic swagger of Velvet Revolver and the sleazy rawness of Buckcherry that gives the bands songs their undeniable appeal.

Bleed Me Out will smack you in the face with it’s stark visual imagery of the lyric, a pummelling rhythm section and the hyperkinetic mind-bending fire of the guitars—feats of spellbinding dexterity performed by the band’s world-renowned guitarist Matt Wilcock (voted top 100 metal guitarists of all time).
Bleed Me Out confirms Shotgun Mistress’s flightpath—a soaring trajectory straight up to the next level to launch an unstoppable presence onto the global rock stage.
