The Silverback Agency Launches, With A Roster Of Killer Aussie / NZ Rock!

THE SILVERBACK AGENCY is a full-service artist and talent agency offering artist services in management, booking, touring, artist development, digital distribution, merchandise, publicity and media.

The agency was developed as the next phase in the evolution of SILVERBACK TOURING, the touring agency, which was established in 2018 and has established itself, in a short time, as a serious player in rock touring in Australia. Whilst the music industry came to a screeching halt in 2020 thanks to COVID-19, the Silverback team accelerated their plans for a local talent agency.

Bad Moon Born

The focus of the agency is its artists first and foremost. Whilst the traditional model of talent agencies continues to operate, the Silverback team believe that it is a new world we are now in where the role of an agent extends beyond simply booking shows for its artists. The agency is adaptable and multi layered.

Silverback’s Danny Bazzi elaborates, “the development of artists is paramount in this day and age. The roles of agents, managers and business managers cross over more today than they ever have. If we can offer our artists a team to get them up and running, put them in front of great audiences and, in the process, contribute to re-imagining the rock scene in Australia and extend that into New Zealand, Asia and the rest of the world , then we are doing our job”.

Shepherds Reign

The foundation Silverback roster includes a range of up and coming rock acts which sit comfortably side by side in the very wide and diverse lane that is hard rock and metal. The artists range from alt-metal, heavy blues through to straight up hard rock and glam.

The Black Cardinals

In addition to the original artist roster, Silverback has also established a tribute arm to its roster of artists. On the topic of tribute acts, Bazzi says, “tribute acts are both loved and polarise at the same time. Some of these acts are amazing at what they do. Everyone loves nostalgia and we established our tribute roster to put these bands in front of new audiences, some on their first ever national tours, as well as into new territories. South East Asia is our first international stop for a number of these acts, a far reach from playing local pubs”.

If 2020 has taught us one thing, it is that the local music landscape is rapidly changing. It is time to bring some of our amazing local artists to the forefront.

Under The Southern Stars Postponed To 2022

The Under the Southern Stars spectacular concert series featuring  Cheap TrickBush and Stone Temple Pilots has regrettably and unfortunately been postponed. Again.

We must protect our patrons, our artists and our crews.

Given the disappointingly slow roll-out of the vaccine by the Government, there is no confidence that we can keep all safe and proceed as planned at our festivals this May. The continuing mismanagement of the Covid-19 situation at all levels of government has led to numerous inconsistencies and on-going broken promises by officials that ultimately affect the safety of our patrons, artists and our crews, both domestic and international. So much so that the situation presents too much to risk to go forward with the dates as planned at the end of April and into May 2021.

The very recent eleventh hour cancellation of Byron Bay Bluesfest by the NSW government on the eve of the landmark festivals start date over Easter was an incredibly disheartening display of what could possibly happen to our patrons, artists and crews – being left stranded high and dry only moments before one of our events is set to kick off.  We wish to protect all, and avoid a situation such as this.

To keep all involved as safe as we can and limit the possibility of getting stuck in the middle of further snap lockdowns, border closures and other knee-jerk reactions, we have to move Under The Southern Stars to a time that gives the series its best chance of running smoothly, as planned and ultimately allowing for the best experience possible to all ticket holders.

This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but the safety of all is our motivation.

Under The Southern Stars promoter, Andrew McManus has issued the following statement.
‘We ask you all to continue to believe in us. We must protect our artists and patrons. We get it … how many times can the Australian system force another postponement? So we are making the hard decision to reschedule Under The Southern Stars to the first quarter of 2022 and ask that all our valued supporters hold on to their tickets and in return we will be announcing some truly exciting additions to the line-up and festival circuit!

We sincerely apologise for the situation and ask once again for our loyal patrons to #keepyourticket and stay tuned. Not only for new dates, but we are planning on making Under The Southern Stars bigger and better. It will absolutely be worth the wait.

A full announcement including the rescheduled dates, additions to the line-up and more will be shared in the coming weeks.

All tickets already purchased will be valid for new shows when they are announced.

Further information concerning rescheduled dates will be available via

Plini Announces Impulse Voices Australian Tour With Special Guest Stephen Taranto

This July, Sydney guitar-wizard PLINI is set to return to the stage to celebrate the release of his latest album, Impulse Voices. After a year of show postponements and cancellations, PLINI and his band of musical superheroes (Chris Allison, Jake Howsam Lowe and Simon Grove) are thrilled to reunite on stage, performing new songs, old songs and all the notes in between.

“It was definitely a little strange releasing a new album without being able to celebrate it with live shows, but being able to announce these three (and hopefully more soon) has me and my band over the moon! Going to be practising like crazy, putting together a new setlist… I’m even a little excited just to coil cables after the shows. See you all soon!” says PLINI.

To ensure a truly memorable evening, all three shows of this east coast run will be supported by the inimitable STEPHEN TARANTO and his band, playing music from his critically-acclaimed EP Permanence for the first time ever.

PLINI and STEPHEN will also host a music masterclass / Q&A session before each show – an opportunity to ask about their approaches to playing, writing, creativity, music business and more.

PLINI’s last Australian tour sold out weeks in advance, so grab your tickets now!
